Can I pack a small fan in my checked luggage?

Can I pack alcohol in my checked luggage if I am underaged?

• I'm flying from Oregon to San Diego, California in November with a friend. We are both 18, I was wondering if I could pack a 5th of alcohol in my CHECKED LUGGAGE without getting it taken away or getting usin trouble? Please only answer if you know for sure. On the TSA website it says you can travel with it in checked luggage but says nothing about minors with alcohol. Please help! Thanks! :)

  Nothing should happen. You can say it's a gift if asked. If it is indeed illegal as an answerer has said, the "crime" is minimal and totally harmless. If it's going to cause you worry and discomfort, don't bother. If it will be a thrill for you to try to get away with this tiny insignificant thing, go for it. The bag won't be x-rayed till it's away from you, and there's no way the people who see the liquor will know that it belongs to an 18 year old. The only risk will be entering or leaving the airport. I don't live in America and don't know how the airports are set up, but some countries have x-ray machines in place as you enter or just before you leave the airports. But even if there are these machines, security will probably not make the remote connection between your age and a little bottle of alcohol in your bag. They have a lot more important things to deal with.
