How long does it take for a parcel sent via USPS to reach UK?

• I'm in a bit of a panic as I bought my halloween outfit via ebay as the design I wanted was only available in America. International shipping doesn't usually bother me, I buy items from Hong Kong all the time and I've never had a problem with the amount of time it takes to deliver them, but my outfit is coming from Los Angeles and is being sent via USPS, a carrier I've never had any experience with. I've been given a tracking number but the website just isn't updating the progress of my parcel. Now, I looked up other people's experience with USPS and have to say it's been given a lot of mixed reviews, some parcels take a few days and others even taking up to and over a month to get to the buyer! Hopefully this won't happen. I gave a gap of just over 2 weeks for payment to process and customs to process the parcel when it was sent out. The delivey status on the USPS website says 'electronic shipping info received' which I know could mean that the seller has only printed the label for the parcel off. Other than that I have no other info, not even where the package is right now! USPS really need to make their tracking info a bit more informative and a lot clearer. It's only been 5 days and I know it takes longer but due to my worrying ways I need a rough idea as to when to expect my parcel and if I need to possibly arrange a back-up idea for the night out. Please someone with experience with USPS delivering to the UK just help me out and give me a rough idea of times!! It would be so helpful :)

  For some reason its faster to get stuff from Hong Kong then the UK. I bought a CD compilation from the UK and unfortunately it took nearly 3 weeks. I know that not what you want to hear, but you could get it sooner the usual wait is 2 weeks.
