What's the cheapest way to ship Boxes from NY to CA?

Whats the best/cheapest way to ship personal stuff from ID to CA?

• I'm moving in February and I just wondered what would be the easiest way to ship my stuff to SoCal from Idaho. I checked on UPS.com and it was pretty spendy (over $2,000), I know it's not going to be cheap and I will be packing some stuff in my car. I'm only really shipping clothes and a few smaller items in boxes maybe 20x20x26. I haven't figured all the details out yet, but any help or advice would be nice. Thanks!

  Use Greyhound. They may not deliver directly to your door (or pick up from your current residence) ... but they'll certainly be the cheapest. For example: Idaho Falls ID to Calexico CA is $55.42 for a package that's up to 24x24x24 and weighs less than 50 pounds. That would be the size of most small moving boxes. And the package arrives approximately 26 hours after you've put it in the system ... going by STANDARD transport, not even looking at priority! Using that size box and weight limit ... 12 of them would run you about $665.
