Can I bring alcohol on a plane in my checked baggage if I am 20?

  • I am 20 (almost 21) and am visiting my friend for the weekend. My friend just turned 21 and I wanted to bring her a bottle of wine as a gift. I know it is legal if I put it in my checked baggage. However, would it be an issue that I am a minor?

  • Answer:

    Technically it is illegal to be in possession of alcohol if you are under 21, howeve the airline people are not the police, and as long as the alcohol is in your checked luggage they won't care.

Yeah i think you can if its a bag that you check in. My bf brought 3 bottles of jack daniels on an international flight when he checked in the bag (he was already 23 though) they didn't say anything about it since they just checked it in and then it went into cargo. You cant bring any liquids on carry on though.

As far as I know you can bring bottles on a plane when they are purchased from the duty free shop on your international flight. Not so when you're boarding a local plane. You cannot bring liquids aboard, not even a bottle of water.
