Does USPS registered mail require a signature upon delivery?
-
I have a package coming from the UK (royal airmail registered mail) which has been passed to the U.S. for delivery with USPS. Does USPS registered mail require a signature upon delivery? If I am not home, will they allow my father to sign for it even though the package is addressed to my name and I am over 18.

Answer:
Most likely it will require a signature at the time of delivery. Registered Mail is a hand to hand service with everybody that handles it having to sign off on it. Anyone at the residence can sign as long as it is not a Restricted Delivery item. It may be different with International Mail however. What I described is for Domestic Mail.

As long as someone is there to sign it (not sure if the require it), you should be fine. You really should ask your local USPS...
