How much does it cost to move a piano across the country?

How much will it cost to move my piano up & down 4 flights of stairs?

• So I live in a third story apt. and bought a brand new Steinway upright over the summer, and it was moved up two flights of stairs (one with a tight turn) without a hitch. I just bought my first piece of property, and I'll have to move the piano again when my condo is finished in June. Problem is, my condo is on the third story as well, and there's two more flights of stairs on that property. The distance between my apt. and the new condo is about 13 miles. I think when I bought my piano the delivery charge was around $300, and I plan on using the same moving company this time because they got it up two flights of concrete stairs without a problem, but I'm wondering if these extra sets of stairs will pose a problem or make the piano move cost almost $1000 which is sickening! any advice would be appreciated!

  Since you have a removal company in mind already, would it not make more sense to just pick up the phone and ask them? Yahoo Answers members are just going to pluck random figures out of the air, so get an accurate answer by ringing them.
