How to tell where your package is in customs?

WHY my package went to NEW YORK USPS?

  • Inbound Into Customs Inbound International Arrival, December 02, 2010, 7:33 am, ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) Foreign International Dispatch, November 25, 2010, 8:58 am, HONG KONG AIR MAIL CENTRE, HONG KONG Origin Post is Preparing Shipment Foreign Acceptance, November 23, 2010, 3:32 pm, HONG KONG I'm not asking how long will it take for my package to be out of customs. I'm asking why my package went to New York because I live in LA??? The seller already gave me a copy of where he sent my package: it shows the correct address. But I still don't get why my package has to go to New York USPS instead of LA USPS???? Can someone please tell me why?????????????

  • Answer:

Not exactly sure why, but sometimes they get routed to the United States through different custom facilities... in this case, it should have just come to ISC LA or SF. However, I think you'll be fine, it's just that it'll take a few days longer from them to carry it across the United States.

Because it is coming from a different country. It has to go through customs. Unless your post office has an airstrip on its roof I doubt they get any international packages there until they have already entered the country.

Your package is probably transferring into different ups. Its going to be shipped across the country so its taking stops until your package reached California. If your package doesn't come to you, call the UPS company or file a report.
