Food to eat while hiking...?

Does anybody have any ideas for food to take on a week long hiking trip? Perferrably lightweight stuff that doesn't take much skill to prepare??

Bring some salty foods as you will be sweating a lot. Like nuts, jerky, trail mix. Most importantly, water. Just bring high energy, calorie dense foods.
