  • Family moving to Louisiana from California. What is the cheapest and best way to ship our belongings, clothes, computers, televisions, furniture? Should we ship our car, or would it be best to drive down in our Sebring? We also have 4 cats. Should we fly, what is the least way to do this and leave August 1st?

We moved from IL to AZ. Most of our stuff was misc boxes because we sold most of the heavy furniture. The company commented that our stuff weighed less for the amount of space it took up. Still it costed $2000. We drove with one dog. It took us three days. If I were you, I would write the different options down and compare. I am sure that flying and shipping a car would be the most expensive route. The cats are going to be upset either way. You are not supposed to sedate an annimal for flying as it is considered unsafe for them. They might do better in a car.
