What should i pack for a road trip?

What should I pack for this road trip?

  • I will be traveling to 3 different destinations. The first is about 6 hours away, then after a day or so I will be traveling hours from there, then after 2 days I will be going about 3 hours away. At each point I will have the chance to reup on food. But what should I pack initially? I am 22 and it will be just me and my boyfriend on our first road trip together. I know the obvious like soda, but what other things have you had success with while travelling? I am most interested in GOOD foods, that I can make and pack ahead of time- not chips, cookies, etc. Thanks in advance!

  • Answer:

pack up the obvious first! clothes & toiletries. enough pants & shirt should be you first concern. how often will you change clothes? will you do heavy activities(bring extra shirts)? will you go swimming(bring sunscreen & extra undies, better disposables)? are you planning to wash them(then dont forget laundry soap)? dont go low power. bring your chargers for your cellphone, or cameras. dont forget your main purpose of the trip. if your going to a conference, bring paper & pen. if your just goin to have fun with your partner, bring a condom (better safe than sorry).. if your going to a church activity, bring your bible. or to a badminton game, then dont forget your rocket.. duh?! food&drink. food & drink should be your least concern, unless your goin to a place where you know there are no supermarkets. coz you could always restock food & drink where ever you go. bring lite food, bread & chips are the best choices. bring a bottle of water. i discourage soda & iced tea, because they are diuretics (makes you pee alot). not good when the next stop is 3hours away. they also contain caffeine, that wont let you sleep and may make you seasick. here is my own basic packing list, where ever i go.. traveling clothes (most of the clothes i bring dont need ironing) formal clothes (depends how long) day clothes (lite & cool ones) sleeping clothes enough underwear - socks, briefs, undershirts etc... rubber shoes (which i wear during travel) slippers shower towel (i dont want to use hotel towels, dont kno why) soap, shampoo, conditioner toothbrush toothpaste hangers (so i wont have to re-iron most of my clothes) chargers for cellphone, camera, laptop etc.. bible (cant live without) 1litter bottle of water 1bag of chips & extra plastic bag when i get seasick =P extra money, ATM, or credit card.. you wont know when you get to an accident. but dont bring too much.. travel lite but not under packed happy trip!
