Traveling with Christmas presents: can I just carry the presents on-board in a brown paper bag or something?
-
I am traveling from New York to London to spend 3 weeks with my boyfriend. I bought Christmas presents for him and his family, which I will be bringing with me, but I don't think they're going to fit in my suitcase. I always bring a backpack as a carry on but it's not a large backpack and I put a book or two in there to read. Can I bring my presents on the plane in a brown paper bag or some other type of disposable bag, or will i have to check a little carry on suitcase for them?

Answer:
Depends on security at your departure airport! Normally one carry-on bag only. Not carry on bag PLUS a carrier bag! My wife was stopped because she had carry-on and handbag! Handbag had to go in carry-on! New York to London is high profile flight so they will be very strict!
