Will there still be a lot of young travelers in Europe in sept?

Schegen Visa expiring. Do I need to cancel existing before applying for new one as dates collide?

  • I have a Schegen visa issued by the French embassy for 6 months, expiring on 13 Sept 2011. My first trip on this visa was to Paris. I am planning a trip to Ibiza around 20 Sept. Can you advise what would be the best way forward for my application. 1. I believe the French embassy is the only embassy stamping out 6 month visa. 2. If I go the French embassy again, would my first trip again have to be somewhere in France. 3. Since the difference between the expiry date and next travel date is only 7 days, not enough for a complete new visa application , what do you propose I do ? Should I ask for a cancellation of the current visa and ask for a fresh one ? OR should I just apply for the visa requesting a start date from 14 Sept (day after the current visa expires). IF i go with this option, would I need to come back from Europe before 13 Sept and then travel again or can i stay back since I have a new visa covering the next date ? anyone who has been a similar situation ? Please advise Thanks a lot.

  • Answer:

Ask for an extension or a completely new one. Do NOT every cancel your current one. You could be stuck in the country.
