How much should it cost to ship luggage through USPS, FED-EX, or UPS?

I am moving from Ga. to Ca. and i noticed that airlines charge soo much for baggage after the 2nd check-in! I have 3 bags, and i wanted to just ship the third. it is around 40 or so pounds and the traditional size luggage... Also, which company is better to ship with? The date it arrives isn't really a big issue.

Price will be determined by: 1) distance 2) what type of shipment...ground, air, next day...you want. Measure the 3 dimensions and weigh it. Then contact the 3 shippers mentioned for an estimate.
