What to pack for European vacation?

What kind of clothes should I pack for a European vacation in October?

• I will be in England, Spain, and Italy in mid-October. Just wondering what kind of clothes I should pack. I know to steer clear of tennis shoes to avoid standing out as a tourist, but will the weather be cool or somewhat warm? Rainy? Are jeans ok to wear or too touristy? What kind of shoes? Any help is appreciated!

  In England, the weather could be doing ANYTHING! But it won't be T-shirt only warm. Layers are the way to go.We're a scruffy lot, so just be comfy! Most important thing to have is a waterproof- a proper one, not just a showerproof coat. They pack up small, and when it rains, which it will, you can carry on and not be bothered by it! Italy will be warmer, but probably quite cool in the evenings. Again, think layers. Sounds like a great holiday!
