-
I am getting married in 2014 and we will be going on our honey moon to japan two days after our wedding day. I wont be able to change my name to my married name until we come back. so will my passport still be valid ?

Answer:
Yes, your passport will be valid...however, you must ensure that whatever name is on your passport is the same name that you book your flights under or you will not be able to fly. So you are going to have to book flights in your husbands name and your maiden name...

Yes, it will. many women never change their name when they get married. it is an option. You may certainly use your passport in your maiden name for your honeymoon, and change it after your return if you like. You just need to buy your airline ticket in the same name that is on your passport. Your passport and ticket must have exactly the same name on them. Your marital status does not matter to security. All they care about is that you are the person whose name is on the ticket.

As the others said; as long as you book the flight with the same name as yourp assport, you'll be fine If you're in the UK, you can apply in advance for a passport in your married name (forms on the website I think) However as you have to pay the same as a new passport, you might want to wait :) I'm letting mine expire naturally before I update it!

Passport office will give best answer. there could be nothing worse than being 'hung over' at an airport due to a technicality.
