What to pack for a 3 day/2 night trip to Washington DC in winter?

I have a performance, so I know I should bring the outfit we have to wear. But what else? Plus there's an 8 hours bus ride.

It is cold there and there are a lot of neat places that you can walk to, so bring a hat, gloves, scarf and a warm jacket. Visit the Old Post Office...it is a cool place to shop.

comfortable clothes for during the trip warm clothes for walking around town and depending who your going with a nice outfit for dinner out.
