What can I take on a plane and what can't I?

What things can i take on a plane and what things cant i?

  • hey i a 14 year old who is going on a flight in a week or so and im curious what things i can and cannot take like laptops. food, and stuff. i know planes can be strict so im just curious if anyone knows what kind of food or other household items are not allowed. also, im just wondering what i can do to prevent a pat down? like can i wear jeans with metal buttons or a vest with metal zipps? im just really nervous about messing something up since im going alone. by the way, is there a limit to how many bags i can take or how big they can be? p.s is it true soda cans will explode while the plane is flying? thanks :) note: the flight is from LA to sacramento

Hello there If you provide us with th airlines we can give you more details. For specific details on what an airline allows and does not allow it is best to call the airline on the agency you booked with. How ever here is a General rundown on what is allowed Hang luggage is generally 7KG for carry on. Zipper and metal button will be dfine to wear when checking in Soda cans will no explose while on the plane lol. Food is usually permitted to take onboard with you, Do not take sharp items on you carry on luggage, scissors, nail files and other shapr items are usually to be places in your checked in luggage and not carry on. Carry on luggage should be a size suitable to be placed in the overhead compartments. All good from here :)

Hi, I've found that the metal detectors at airports are extremely sensitive and I usually get a "pat down" even though the only metal I have on me are: Button and zipper of my jeans, earrings. So if you really want to avoid it, you'd have to wear leggings and a sweatshirt or something like that. ... Don't worry about it, though. These people are professional and it's over in seconds anyway. Make sure that you have nothing sharp or pointed with you - no nail clippers, no knitting needles (sigh), and of course no pocket knife or things like that. Make sure you comply with the regulations on liquids/gels (see website of the airline). So you can't bring anything to drink from outside the airport. You can buy the extremely overpriced soft drinks after the security checks ... or simply rely on whatever they'll give you on the plane. Don't bring any soda cans. You can't take them in your hand luggage because of the regulations for liquids, and what good are they in your suitcase? You can bring some food, and I'd recommend you do, because of the high prices at the airport. You can only bring ONE carry-on bag, and there are size limits. You can bring your laptop in an extra laptop bag, that doesn't count. The laptop will have to run through the x-ray machine by itself, i.e. you'll need to take it out of the bag. They'll tell you, though.
