How do I pack for an airplane?

Never been on airplane before - how to pack?

  • I hear all these things with 3 oz bottles and liquids and how the airport is strict.. So I asked my friend and she said that's only with carry ons? I'm confused, so I can pack all my regular stuff in my luggage?

    Your Airline will have a link on it's site listing what is and is not permitted both in cabin carry on and/or checked baggage. To days travelers bring only the minimum "Liquids" on board in their had luggage. !00 ml limit is placed on the size, eyeliner is considered a liquid as is lip-gloss, naturally deodorant or colognes are liquids. Remember to put your scissors or manicure file in your Checked in as some officers really "do" their job. In the checked luggage nothing that could cause a fire should be packed but normal liquids even with alcohol are accepted in your main bag. Drinks can not be got through security even water in a sealed bottle. Once you have passed security and are Air-side you can purchase Drink for the Shops and bring it on board. You may not drink Alcohol on a plane unless supplied by the Aircrew

I just went to Las Vegas w/ my husband for a week so here's a guideline of HOW to pack.. Ok most airlines charge for bags.. $25 for the first bag & additional $30+ for each additional.. You can have 1 carry-on.. DO NOT pack ANY liquids in your carry-on.. Just skip that completely that way you don't have to worry about sizes/oz. Just pack in your reg. luggage.. I would suggest putting them in ziploc or other waterproof container that way if there's a spill your clothing is fine.. Also, keep your bag UNDER 50lbs. There's an extra charge for bags over 50lbs ! Also no sharp objects in your carry-on like toenail clippers, tweezers, small knives etc...

Exactly. So shampoos and other such things as long as it isn't food or a weapon cAn go into the luggage. You're carry on should be used for a change of clothes and something to do. The link below has a list of things not to take with you

Your friend is correct. Regular sized liquids/gels/creams can be in your checked luggage with no limits. Just so you know the rule.... 311 Liquids/Gels/Creams Rule for Carry ons 3.4oz (100ml) or less 1 quart sized (1 liter) clear plastic ziptop bag 1 bag per person
