When does the christmas break starts?

Skipping school for vacation?

  • me my mom and my sister are going to america to visit my grandmother. we were tight on money and finally things are going great and we have the money to go to america for the 1st time in four years. (i live in japan, its pretty expensive to go) the thing is, my mom booked the tickets on the date that is one week earlier than when when christmas break starts, because it will be double the price if we go later than that date. I would miss a week of school! how can I prepare and catch up? what do I tell the teachers and all? would they get mad?!?

    well I think you should tell the teachers that your going to America, tell them you will bring them a souvenir and photos, and go there and have a great time, school is for education but it is not supposed to take away such pleasures of life. the teachers should not get mad, as long as you bring them something, and tell them that you will study twice as hard when you come back (and by that time your brain would have rested enough to study ten times as hard as you do now ) and you could make a story/diary (just write something) about your adventure, and your literature teacher should be happy. hope this helps yuri

Ah my friend did that but her mum did it by purpose as the tickets were cheap and she ended up going and lying saying that it was for a wedding so all the teachers believed her. When she got back; she had loads of homework to do but she soon catched up and we helped her..so go for it =)

Don't stress about it. everybody does this at some stage. Take it easy on yourself and enjoy your holiday. Worry about it when you get back.

Just skip school, I used to skip school even when I didnt have a good reason to. Be honest with your teachers and ask them for the work in advance, and then work as hard you can to finish it before you leave, that way you will have an awesome holiday... Im sure your teachers will understand, just talk to them. Hope this helps. =)

The best thing you can do is; 1- Ask the school for permission. Don't just tell them, that's not the polite way to get what you want. 2-Explain your reasons for going at this time. 3- In the UK we are legally entitled to 10 days term time holidays, so you cannot be refused anyway!

wow that's a wonderful chirstmass vacation for you and for your family. regarding your problem i quess you should ask permission to your schools especailly to your school coordinator/principal. Talk to your teacher and ask advice for them of what is the best thing to do because your living for a couple of weeks for vacation., Give your explanation why you will go to US as early as what your expecting too, tell them that you don't want to miss any subject in your classes because you prioritize it. Or you can ask them to give you special classes so that you can catch up your subject. And i think they will not get mad of you. Tell them in a nice way, explane and ask thier advises as well.
