What do I need to pack for Church Summer Camp In Texas?

I know it is early to think about packing but i am leaving to go out of town on the last day of school and i like planning ahead I have never been to overnight church camp but i need to have a plan so anybody have any ideas please do not put any disrespecting, rude or interpropret

  It will most likely be hot. I like the long-sleeved shirts and pants of thin nylon - they will protect you from the sun and mosquitoes and they can be washed in the evning and will be dry the next day. They also dry quickly on you if you sweat or get them wet during the day. You might find a headlamp (flashlight which straps around your head on a headband) useful - they can be great if you want to read after "lights-out" or if you are simply walking at night. I really like the insect repellent that comes in individually packaged "wipes". It is better than the spray, and you can keep a few on you and then not use the repellent unless you are actually being bitten by bugs. Also - if you get some permethrin to use on your clothes before you go (can buy from Amazon) it acts as a repellent to keep ticks, spiders, and ants from crawling on your clothes and will help prevent mosquitoes from biting through your clothes. It lasts for weeks after applying and will last through a few washes. I just treat all my clothes a few days before the trip - it has a faint smell which goes away as it dries. Take along the two MOST important things - a smile and a good sense of humor! Have fun!
