What can I take in my check-in luggage?
-
I am travelling to Armenia in 2 weeks and I was wondering if I can take any shampoos/conditioners, scissors & a tweezer with me in my check-in luggage? I know that I can't take those sharp object with me in my carry-on but will I get into trouble for putting them in my luggage for a check-in? Could they ask me to open up my luggage for a check upon screening it? Can I take a lip-gloss and my contact lense case with me? Oh, and can I also take the lense liquid with me too which I will definitely need but it's not tiny though. How about my liquid foundation? Will the consitioner bottle explode in the air and leak by any chance? I heard that some bottles do explode and leak as a result of the temperature. Maybe I should just leave my shamoop and conditioner behind since I can buy the same over there and it's less weight for me, but I guess I'm a bit too lazy to go out looking for them once I get to Armenia the first few days. i nearly forgot to also say that I will be taking few of my nail polishes too...is that alright to carry with me in my purse? I'm taking 3 regular size nail polishes.

Answer:
Get one of the travel size little bottles, and poor a little of the lens liquid in it, that can travel in your plastic bag, the rest, the bigger bottle can go in your check in luggage. In the plastic bag should also go your nail polish, if you want to take them in the plane. You can take tester bottles of your shampoo and so on, or travel size little bottles, in that plastic bag too. Lip gloss is not big, so do not risk it, put it in the plastic bag too. Most bottles will not get damaged in the plane, but it is wise to put them in a plastic bag and between soft things like your clothing. Tweezers best travel in your check in luggage, although some can go in your carry on, (if it does not have any sharp points,) same for nail files. You will not have to open your check in luggage, unless there is a screening before the check in counter and they find something very weird in it. But between the check in counter and the plane the luggage is checked, of which you will notice nothing. But if traveling to or in the USA you need an aproved lock so they can open the luggage for checking. Other airports will only open locked cases in case of suspensions and will break the locks if needed. But a few bottles of shampoo and contact cleaner and a set of tweezers and nail file will not do that. The allowed size for liquids in carry on is 100 ml or 3 oz, which comes to about the same. Together they need to go in a 1 liter or 1 quart plastic bag, again about the same size.
