What's acceptable in baggage?

Im going on holiday in july.whats the hand baggage allowance at heathrow now?

  • A while ago you coudlnt take handbags or something and they had to be in see through packaging...or the bag had to fit and be a certain size... does anyone know what its like now as my hand bag will most likely be a biggish one.. thanks

  • Answer:

its about 16"X 12"X4" and about max 12Kgs....they have a frame that you're bag has to be able to fit into...but you will get away with something a little bigger unless you meet someone who is having a bad day...check in as early as you can they tend to be more lienent then than once they have had a few hundred people trying the same thing...best to check with your airline company to be 100% sure.

The airline will dictate the size and weight their planes can handle. Although if it is obviously too big, the airport will put it in the hold for you. As to what you can carry, review the generic information on the BAA website and follows the links for the specific information for your airport.
