What is the baggage limit?

Checked Baggage - Tying two bags together if under the weight limit, okay ?

  • I will be flying US AIR and Have already got two pieces of checked baggage, one is a few pounds lighter then the limit. Its an international flight and I will be living out of a suite case for a very long time. I will need to take as much as possible with me, will they allow me to attach a smaller bag on to my larger one for extra space if its under the weight limit ?

  • Answer:

Every airline has different regulations: Japan Airlines allows 2 free bags, AirCanada charges $25 for the 2nd bag. Call US AIR and ask them how many free bags they allow. If you tie a 3rd bag to your larger suitcase, it will count as a 3rd bag and they will make you remove it in any case. In addition to your free bag(s) you are allowed a carry-on. This is a small bag that can fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat.

they won't let you 'tie' two bags together to count as one. I fly US air all the time and they are money hungry... They'll even charge you $2 for drinks on the plane. You MAY be able to get some free bags because you are going international but checking anything domestically will cause you to get charged a few bucks (it's not really that big of a deal) I would suggest that you bring the 2nd, lighter bag in a bigger suitcase so that you have room to bring home some stuff to remember your trip. Anyway, At most you only need 7-10 outfits... They do make washing machines!
