Alright, you'll need sleeping bags, a tent obviously, flashlights, a camp stove or stuff to light a fire (make sure you know how to properly light and control a fire), if need be bring some sort of pan to cook food in, plates/silverware, water, and clothes to sleep in/for the next day. Bring toilet paper and a ziploc bag to put used toilet paper in. Don't leave toilet paper in the woods! It can attract animals and it's not biodegradable. Other things that can be useful are a first aid kit, insect repellent, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Generally when I go camping I hike all day then set up camp at night and make food. Telling stories/talking over the fire can be fun. Stuff to make smores might be a good idea, they're a great camp food. If you're out in the middle of a forest where you could get lost, bring a compass or GPS and a pocket knife. If you're in an area that might have bears, bring a bear bag. Basically for a bear bag you just get a bag and tie it up in a tree far away from your camp (200 ft or so). You can look up how to make a bear bag on google. Also, please don't leave ANY trash in the woods. Bring a trash bag for all your trash, and make sure that you leave the area exactly as you found it.

If you are going camping in a RV then just bring food and drink enough for the trip. However, if you are going to actually try to rough it and sleep in a tent or on the ground you will need a few things. 1. A safe place to build a fire. 2. Bug repellant so that you aren't bitten all the time by mosquitoes and such. 3. Provisions and containers in which to store those provisions overnight while you sleep so that animals small or large do not try to raid your campsite. 4. I think it goes without saying, but warm clothes and multiple changes of clothes in case you need extra clothes. 5. Rope, you never know what you might need it for until you need it and don't have it. 6. If you are going to be hunting on this trip bring the necessary equipment to kill and clean the game you are going to be hunting. I hope this gives you a starting point from which you can prepare yourself for a fun and adventurous camping trip.

really depends on HOW you're camping... Cabin, tent (in a campsite), or just under the stars? Cabin-sleeping bag, food (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips). Tent- Tent, firewood, sleeping bag (maybe a blow-up air mattress), food, hot dog cookers, lighter/matches. Under the stars- Firewood, sleeping bag, lighter/matches, food. You can add some stuff as you please but those are the basics.
