Cyprus tourist visa?

  • hi, I am a Pakistani. I want to travel to Cyprus (Southern Part) to meet my gf there. She's a Cypriot. I know about the visa requirements but i am confused about one thing since I have the invitation from Cyprus & I am gonna stay at my gf's place. Do I still need a bank statement as I'll have the invitation letter from her & she's gonna support me financially there during my stay?This is one thing Consulate General Secretary didn't clear me out about. I haven't applied for the visa yet but I am looking forward to apply for it as soon as this point is cleared. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    I am not sure how does it work with Cypriot Consulate, but some consulates want to see details of you employment and your finances. This is mainly to show them that you are working and that you are not depending on someone else (e.g. government). I know you will have letter from your girlfriends family, but they might think, anyone can write you a letter. (I am not slagging off Cypriot Consulate, just giving you example)!!! I never had any problems traveling anywhere in the world on my Eastern European passport. However, I could not get visa for Australia no matter what I provided. Few months later; when I obtained my UK passport nobody ask me anything, no papers, no bank statements, no proof of employment! They welcomed me to their country with open hands, like I was a different person (the thing is I was not)! Good Luck!!!

Hello, you said that you know the requirements. one of the requirements of getting visa says that you need to have a bank statements as a proof of sufficient funds. it's obligatory. Be honest, do you really think the officer will take your girl's word for truth?
