What should I pack for a week trip?

What is the easiest way to pack for a 3 week trip?

  • I don't know where to even start! I leave Sunday and need to pack NOW! I am working this weekend and have to do most of it tonight. How can I do this? What can I bring? We will be washing (family apt), but I just don't know what to do. Is there an easy way to pack or just wing it? I made a list last week or 2 weeks ago...so that's a start lol

  • Answer:

pack one week of clothes and do laundry once a week. 7 underwear 3 pairs of socks, unless you're wearing socks everyday or going to the gym, then 7 pairs 1 shorts 1-2 skirts if you're a girl 1-2 pairs of jeans/pants cardigan sweatshirt 5 t shirts pj's 2-3 nice outfits for going out flipflops athletic shoes nice shoes toiletries - pack pieces that are interchangeable and you can make multiple outfits out of -keep it simple. if you overpack, there is no way you will ever wear all of it. just wash it.

If you have an idea of the weather at your destination, it's helpful. But try to be prepared for variables in temperature and sun/rain. Get out a few things that you know you will need such as sunglasses, raincoat, etc. Get your toiletries together. If you have last minute things you will need to add right before leaving, keep a list out so you won't forget anything important. Lay out several days worth of 'outfits', things you would normally wear together. Don't forget shoes and socks. I like to wear the biggest things, like boots, coat, jeans, etc. when traveling so I have more room in my suitcase. I also like to roll my clothing because I can get more in the suitcase that way. I like to add at least one nice outfit for a dinner out and casual 'around-the-house' stuff too. I try to take clothes that can be worn more than once. Sometimes that's a necessity when you are away so long. As long as you have access to a washer/dryer you should not have too much to take. I have found I do a better job of packing at the last minute than when I prepare way ahead-- not sure why, but hey, it works for me. Good Luck! :)
