What should i pack for a road trip?

Road-Trip... What do I pack?

• I am going on a roadtrip with my family in late April. We are starting in New York and heading to South Dakota for Mt Rushmore, Headed down through Denver, and through Utah to The Grand Canyon and Vegas. On the way home, we are going along the bottom of the country and were going through New Mexico, Texas Tennesee and working our way back up to New York. We will be in Vegas for 2 days. The rest is going to be on the road and stopping at random places. The trip is 10-11 days long. I am clueless as to what to pack. I dont know what the weather is like in april for all these places. I dont know whether to pack summerish clothes or if it will be cold other places.. HELP PLEASE!

  You're going to want to layer. South Dakota, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and the Grand Canyon will probably be in the 60s in the middle of the day if the sun is out, but expect evenings and mornings in the 40s. Vegas will most likely be in the high 70s and warm enough for shorts. Texas and Tennessee might also be warm enough for shorts, but it depends really on the weather and your cold tolerance. Basically, I would live in jeans and t-shirts, and add sweatshirts and jackets as needed. If you expect to be out and about in late evenings or early mornings, consider bringing light gloves.
