When traveling is it better to have a backpack or suitcase?

How much would it be to ship a suitcase from Denmark to Minnesota?

• Im studying abroad this summer and am planning on traveling after my program is done. Since i'll be mobile i want to bring a backpack for those 2 weeks I'm traveling. So i'll be shipping my suitcase home. I'm assuming it'll be fairly full- I'm there for 6 weeks so it'll have about 5 weeks of clothes and things i've picked up while over there. I'm just wondering what an estimate would be of the cost to ship the suitcase from Copenhagen to Minneapolis MN? Thanks!

  Wonderful place, Copenhagen. Visited for a week many years ago. No one can tell you the cost, unfortunately. You need to get that suitcase and pack it like you think it might be after that program ends. Then weigh it. You need to know how much it weighs. Even a rough approximation will be helpful. If you were to ship it with Fed Ex, UPS, DHL or other shipping company, you can go to any of their websites and get an approximate cost now that you now the weight, along with the origin and destination. http://www.dhl.com/en.html http://www.fedex.com/us/index.html http://www.ups.com/ There is also the Danish postal service, but I have no idea how to find out rates to ship something using that service. Any of the other three shipping companies will be quite expensive (much more than you think, I'm sure), but far better than having to take it with you after the end of the program. And while you are on those pages, there is probably a place where you can look up drop off locations for the city from which you will need to ship it. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your stay.
