I'm traveling to Europe soon. Should I wait to exchange my US Dollars until I get there to get the best rate?

We always wait until we arrive to change money. There will almost always be an ATM at the airport... and they will almost always have the best rate. Do change money before you leave the airport. And do put most of the money you've exchanged into a money belt for safety. Make sure that your ATM will work in Europe (you'll need a 4 digit pin--numbers not letters) and verify with your bank what your daily limit is. You will get a transaction fee, so don't just change small amounts. I get my money at my local bank before I go. They charge me a very little fee, and I get the going exchange rate of the day. I take some money, and use my charge card for most purchases. You do pay a 3% extra on your purchases, but, you have an itemized account of what you spend and where. It is really good to have this when you add up your expenses. And, if a problem arises, your credit card company will handle it for you.

nope I'm a travel agent it is always best to exchange your money before you go at a BANK, no other place. Or just pay for everything with a creditcard.

Well, I think you should get some currency before you go... my husband got stranded once with no local currency at a toll booth late at night........ using your visa card is great but the charges........ So, get SOME and then use your bank card to get cash when you get there.
