How to keep shoes in great condition?

What is the best way to travel with shoes?

  • I keep my shoes in good condition in their boxes. However, I am moving across the country in a couple of weeks and want to bring my shoes with me. I am curious what is the best way to pack them (without their boxes) while making sure they don't get damaged. [by the way, they are all mens]

  • Answer:

my recommendation choices: 1) if everything is having to be boxed - layer them inbetween towels and sheets. you may want to wrap them in a baggie or other item first if they are rather worn. oh and shake off all dirt and wipe them down. if they have just been polished wrap them in a rag or toher item you won't mind having some polish on. 2) if you don't have to box everything..... dresser drawers! i layered mine in the dresser drawers and put the items back inside the drawers. they didn't get damaged or dinged and it saved me on boxes too! 3) men's shoes are costly AND finding a sshoe that fits is priceless - why not box up the boxes and tote them that way. safe travels and Godspeed!

Your best bet is to put thim in plastic bags wrapped up, then tape the bag shut tightly.

I wrap all my shoes in a shoe bag or in ziplock bags, and then I put them on top of everything else (instead of on the bottom of the bag).

Wrap them in tissue paper or use towels. Also, if you put tissue paper in between all of your shirts and pants, they will NOT be wrinkled when you unpack. You'll be amazed.

Depending on the type of shoes, putting them in a duffle bag may be ok.

try bubble wrap...

How about wrapping them first in a soft cloth, and then a bit of bubble wrap? I've seen this done before. Seemed to work well.

Just pack them in their boxes into the moving box(es). That way you'll still have their protective boxes when you get moved into your new place. Enjoy your new home.
