How quick can I get a passport family emergency?

If you lose your valid passport and need one in an emergency how do you get a replacement fast?

  • A person has a valid passport which was lost. The person also has a lost birth certificate if that matters. How do you get a replacement passport.

  • Answer:

http://www.americanpassport.com/?gclid=CJuzopPdqYkCFSNQYwodanNeUQ offers same day passport replacement service as well as other expediated service such as a week or two weeks. They can get expensive though but they come through. If it is a US passport you are looking to replace.

Without knowing what country you are from and what citizenship you hold it is not possible to answer accurately. Generally speaking you need 1. proof of citizenship 2. 2 passport size photos, 1 signed by an appropriate guarantor 3.certified cheque made out as directed on the application 4.completed application If this is an emergency you can usually get a passport in 48 hours with the above 1-4 plus an airline ticket or possibly just the itinerary although the cost is higher. You apply at your local passport office.

If you're still in the states you have to get another copy of your birth certificate from the town hall in which you were born...then take it to the place where you got your passport in the first place. You'll have to go through the whole thing again (pictures and everything). You should be able to get it within 24 hours, but you'll have to pay quite a bit of money to get it that fast. If you're out of the country you have to do the samr thing, but you have to do it through the embassy...they'll help alot, but someone from home has to be able to send your birth certificate through a fax. A copy of your passport will help (if you had one made (just a photocopy) before you left on your trip)...even just having your passport number will make things a bit easier.

your best bet is the local immigration office.

You might try looking on a search engine, but be sure to make sure the site you are looking for the answer in is your state. Every state law is different when it comes to that.
