How big can a letter "package" be?

How secure is it to mail a letter/package to India via USPS?

  • It's not really considered a package. I just want to mail it First Class Priority in one of those large USPS envelopes. It's really light and probably won't be lost/stolen. But I've heard negative things about sending things internationally via USPS especially to India because their postal service is a bit sketchy. On the other hand, shipping even a small package like mine would cost $60+ and I don't want to spend that kind of money on something that doesn't have very much intrinsic value. Will I be okay sending it via USPS? I'm not pressed on time or anything.

  • Answer:

Well, I live in Miami, but my family lives in Argentina, and most of the time (let's say 98% of it) the things got stolen in my country, even a musical card that I sent last Halloween!! So, I strongly recommend you this: if the package is important(like really important documents or things like that) you should go for the "sure way" and send it via UPS. It is more expensive, but they will deliver your package/letter in a very efective way. Good luck!
