How do you fold a military duffel bag?

Duffel Bag or Suitcase....answers please!!!?

  • my boyfriend is going to Hong Kong for a week at the end of february (from NJ) for a Physics conference and he thinks he'll be fine with a duffel bag with all the stuff he needs (clothes, toiletries, bottled water, papers, books, etc. i think he'll be better off bringing a wheeled handled suitcase (for his clothes to keep them neat) along with the duffel bag for his other stuff. what do u guys think he should do? is 1 duffel bag enough? (cause i doubt it and he thinks its fine) anyone can answer but experienced travelers are appreciated!!

  • Answer:

No i say a duffel bag for sure.. because if he gets a semi smaller one he can carry it on.. and he's only going for a week.. he doesn't need a ton of stuff

Guys are different then girls, they don't need 10 pairs of pants, 20 shirts, you get my point. ;P they're fine, with 2-3 pairs of pants, and a few shirts. I think he will be fine.

They do have some duffel bags that are on wheels which would be nice...Oh I just bought one from walgreens I think it was 9.99 maybe 19.99 that is small and some as seen on tv thing...Me I would need a large suitcase but you know guys don't need much...I would say a duffel would work but I would go for one on wheels just easier.

Get a hockey bag.!!! i use that to travel with it and i dont pack light so this works best for me there big, roomy and on wheels. Good Luck!

i find that whenever i travel i am way more organized when it is in a bag with structure...duffel bags just mush together all your stuff and it is hard to find ...plus everything gets wrinkled.....so i think you should do what you suggested clothes in a wheeled one toiletries etc in a duffel............ ive been out of the country many times and feel that is the best way to pack organized and efficiently

Suitcase for clothes. Duffel for extraneous "junk."

I'm not an experienced traveler but even I know a duffel bag is definately not enough. If you try to shove all of that stuff in there the bag is probably going to rip, then what do you do? A suitcase is definately the way to go, just to be safe because when you're travelling there is no telling what may happen. He should bring a duffel bag too though to keep his things organized, you don't want to have to dig through your bag for stuff.

it depends on what kidda clothes and i think he should use both

I'm a guy who always overpacks. Definitely bring a suitcase!

Definitely he should take a suitcase. He is surely a smart person to be going to a physics conference. Why would he want to shove clothes in a duffel bag? It would also be a mess if they had to search through it. It would probably be OK for a carryon though which, of course,he needs a full change on clothes in the duffel bag in case his suitcase gets lost.
