What can I bring in a carry-on bag?

What am I allowed to bring in carryon bag on flight?

  • All I really want to bring that might be of concern is my walkman, some snacks and water, and maybe my cell phone. I've heard electronics can be a problem (someone told me they mess with the engine!...O.O) and I'm not sure if they let you bring ANY liquids on anymore.

  • Answer:

what i always do is pack an unknown liquid in a steel pipe and act nervous.

Don't worry about the engine! None of your electronics will hurt it. Your walkman is okay, but it needs to be turned off during take off and landing. They'll make an announcement on the plane warning you to turn it off and telling you when they can be used again. Cell phones can't be used, as the transmitters might interfere with the navigation equipment of the plane. You can bring it, but make sure it's turned off during the duration of the flight or turned in "airplane mode" [my phone has that, I'm not sure if all do]. You won't be able to make calls or texts, but at least it'll be on. As for liquids and snacks, no liquids above 3 oz are allowed past security. Think travel sized shampoo bottles, etc. You're only allowed one quart sized ziploc bag of those, as well. But once you're past security [your luggage has been scanned, you've walked through the scanners, etc.] and into the terminal you're free to buy bottled water or whatever you would like to drink. You can buy snacks, too, but snacks from home are fine as well as long as they're not liquid.

You can bring everything listed except the water. Electronics are fine otherwise they wouldn't let you bring them. Water, you can buy once you are past the security checkpoint. You aren't allowed to bring them with.

no, you can bring food, electronics (but must be off and not functioning during take-off) and no using cell phones on board because it messes with signal. Ya, they don't allow you to bring ANY liquids that you bring on board, but if you buy liquids in the airport you can bring those on. happy flying!

The water will have to be purchased there at the airport after the security checkpoint. They won't let you bring any drinks from outside. You should be fine with the snacks. You'll have to keep your cell phone off during the duration of the flight, unless you have an "airplane" mode. You cannot make calls during the flight. It can mess with the navigational equipment... or so they say. You just can't use electronics that transmit a signal.. so a GameBoy, Nintendo DS, iPod (mp3 player).. stuff like that is okay. Your walkman will be fine. Just wait 'til they say it's okay to use electronics. As far as any liquids, gels and toiletry stuff, 3 oz max.. the container has to be 3 oz (so you can't have 3 oz of something in a 5 oz bottle). They all have to fit in a single 1 qt zip top bag. You have to take this bag out and lay it on top of the bin when going through security. And you are only allowed one bag.
