Do i need injections before i go to mexico?

  • im going to cancun from the UK for a holiday, its not until march, but ive heard that i may need to get some injections before i go, is this true? if so what do i need? thanks!

    My doctor advised a hepatitis A vaccine before traveling to Mexico. H1N1 shot would be a good idea too. Who wants the flu on vacation?! Check with your doctor.

If you are staying in the tourist areas then you don't need anything special. You should have your routine vaccinations up to date. Those would be things like measles, mumps, rubella your doc will have a complete list. (not that you are in any more danger in Mexico, just a good idea to have them up to date) Someone mentioned Hepatitis A. I would include that along with Hepatitis B amongst routine vaccinations for the UK or Mexico. If you get the full course of the Twinrix vaccine that's good for ten years against both Hep A & Hep B. So it's worth the trouble.

nah, not unless you're going into the countryside. You should be fine. Maybe a swine flu shot if you're really scared. (Though I already know lots of people in the UK with swine flu, so maybe that's not a good idea)
