How many passports can you have on border crossing?

Ok here's a good question involving passports and crossing the border?

  • I plan on crossing the border from Arizona into Mexico by land using my ID and birth certificate. I then want to get on a plane and go to Villahermosa. I plan on coming back the same way. My question is, when I get on the plane, will they ask me for a passport since I am already in mexico or can i just use the documents I used to cross the border by land? Also I can going before June 1, so I will be able to use these documents to cross by land. Thank you!

  • Answer:

You can use your Birth Certificate and ID for all your trip. Since your flight from the border will be domestic, you will have no problem. Passports are for International flights only, for now. Like you said by June 1, you will require passport to enter and leave the US

I would check with the airlines to be absolutely sure, but they normally don't ask for passports in intra-Mexico flights. I think all they would ask for is your FM-T Visa and maybe some ID.

Yes, you will be fine. You can fly within Mexico with your birth certificate and photo I.D. they may ask for a passport, since most folks do have one, just explain you do not have one and use your other I.D. But...would be wise o get a passport soon , as this will be the last time you will be able to get by without one.

Just get the passport!
