Should I go to the Tec de Monterrey campus in Mexico City or Monterrey?

  • I am considering doing my MBA at Tec de Monterrey. I am from California, and will participate in a one year Dual Degree program. Would you recommend studying at the Monterrey campus or the Mexico City campus... and why?

Oh, definately Monterrey. Monterrey is so cool! Mexico City is so over populated. You know that you can only drive your car on certain days because of it? And the polution is terrible! Monterrey is also a large city; however, you can drive your car any day of the week and the polution is not quite as bad. The drinking water is the cleanest in Mexico. I drink it with no problem. Monterrey just built a beautiful park with a riverwalk in the middle of the city -- beautiful. It is only a 3 hour drive to the border if you want to go shopping stateside. However, my favorite shopping/restaurants in Monterrey are Wal-mart, H-E-B, Sonic, Applebee's, McDonalds... the list goes on! Unfortunately, I do not know anything about the campus itself. I have never seen the campus in Mexico City, but the one in Monterrey looks very nice from the outside! =0)

By a long mile: Monterrey. The city of Monterrey is closer to California, much safer than Mexico City and more americanized. You won't have any problems moving around the city, not to mention that your process of adaptation would be a lot more easier in Monterrey. You will hear about the alert regarding the safety in Monterrey, but, seriously... could it be more dangerous than Los Angeles? Honestly, I would pick Monterrey.
