With british passport for which country I do not need visa?

Do you really need a visa to leave the country? I want to go to Mexico, but I'm not sure if I need a passport?

  • Before I go....I'm 18 from California...

  • Answer:

A visa and a passport are two totally different things. You do need a passport to travel to and from Mexico. You do not need a visa to go to Mexico. You will get a tourist permit on the plane or at the border.

No, you do Not need a Visa. If you are only going to a Border town you do Not need a Passport to stay less than 72 hours. State ID and a Birth Certificate is all you need to prove to HS&BP that you are American. To say "You can`t get back in" is ludicrous and is a Violation of international law to refuse entry to one`s country of citizenship. If you are going beyond the border area there is a Passport requirement to get the FMM tourist permit but it is unclear if it is being enforced by land , of course
