Best phone provider for international travel?

If you were to travel to Puerto Vallarta would your cell phone still work if it's provider was at&t?

  • I'm going to Puerto Vallarta from Oregon next weekend and I'm wondering if my cell phone will still work.....

  • Answer:

Yes it does. If you have International Roaming it will work in Mexico using Telcel's network. But be careful: AT&T charges US$1.00 per min for roaming. If you have prepaid you're good to go. If you have a contract with them, you should call CS so that you can add International Roaming on your service. Have fun in Vallarta!

I believe it would if it is quad band....which most newer phones are. Call AT & T and they'll be able to tell you. Or better yet go to their website. I found out all the info I needed for my son and his phone when he went to Europe last year....and his phone worked in Europe.

I'm not 100% positive but I really dont think so. Unless it's a special global phone, it is most likely only positioned to work in the US.
