Would a cruise on the Pacific Ocean be bumpy in January?

Going to Mexico in January and wondering what I should wear/ bring...?

• My family and I are going on a cruise at the very beginning of January and we're stopping in Mexico for three days. We're stopping in Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas and from my understanding, it's mostly warm all year round. Does anyone have any experience in Mexico, to let me know what the weather will really be like? I mean, is it warm enough to wear shorts and a tank top and go swimming in the Ocean? Or will it be a little cooler, where I should wear pants and a sweatshirt? Please, any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  Are you going on Carnival Pride? If so, you will have a wonderful trip! We really enjoyed it a few years ago. Jan should be mild for all three places--PV a little warmer and Cabo a little cooler. The mornings and evenings really cool down--after sunset, which is early, I wear capris and sweater sets; hoodies; sweats etc. During the day it will be warmer---the sun is nice and hot and it can be 76 but seem like 85. The ocean shouldn't be too bad because it is just cooling. We were there in Oct and it was 100 every day. . . slowly cools through Jan/Feb and warms up. The wind on the cruiseship may have a little bite, so you may want to bring a zipper jacket that you can put over dresses etc. if you dress up. Jan is toughest to pack for because you have to bring multiple seasons clothes. Have a great time!
