What's it like to live in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico?

I traveled to Truth or Consequence when I was in the 3rd grade and my mom (who was super protective, being that I am an only child) had no problems with my leaving without telling her.. to go play in the sand dunes and fields with my cousin who lives there. I don't know what it is like today but my idea is that it is well worth the visit and the only concerns I had/have about my safety are with the bears in the mountains, the snakes and the steers that live in the open range and the black widow spiders (which you will not die from being bit by, that is a myth, they will however possibly send you to the hospital to get the anti-venom). People are generally open minded and friendly there, however there was an occurrence of a peeping tom watching one of my other cousins who is model type beauty..but in all honesty we had more difficulties with the wild life than we did with the people. and yes the town got it's name from accepting a game show's proposition for hosting their first episode in their town. Originally named hot Springs.
