Any good WW2 airsoft guns?

Can i transport airsoft guns from the U.S to Mexico and back?

  • next summer im going to mexico. we will be going on many hunting trips in mexico and i wanted to take my airsoft guns. The problem is my dad says i could be detained and possibly arrested if their "special machines" detect that there is a airsoft gun in my backpack. i know guns are strictly controlled in mexico only allowing civilians to own semi-automatic rifles. so can i take my airsodft guns to mexico? i have 2 of them one is a full metal JG M4a1. the second is a plastic FN FiveSeven. My dad said to leave my "toys" at home. so does anyone know if airsoft guns are allowed to be transporteed across the border?

  • Answer:

You can buy them in every state in Mexico and most regular answerers know this. You can buy them (Air Guns) and they are considered TOYS. If they are air cartridges they are not firearms they are Toys. I don`t know where they are considered illegal but Not in this hemisphere. You are a minor and will not be taken to JAIL, your parents are responsible for you. It is incomprehensible to be taken to Jail in a country where they are legal. All that said, be sure you don`t point it at anyone. No one in their right mind would take one to a Resort town You will be perfectly fine!!.

I have read something about applying to government agencies for a permit...but the way Mexican bureaucracy goes, that would take years. I believe the biggest problem would be the super sensitivity of Mexican border guards and military to anything that looks like a gun. If discovered when you enter the country, I m sure you would be taken straight to jail...and questions may be asked later. Not worth the risk! You could contact the nearest Mexican consulate and ask.

Air guns are not restricted. They may check it to make sure it is not real. Spearguns, crossbows, archery equipment are all legal. As long as it does not burn gunpowder you are ok. Ammo is strictly prohibited. You will not get hassled. No big deal, I have crossed my paintball gun lots of time without any issues.

I don't know about getting the guns to Mexico, but getting them back is going to be difficult...
