Which country is more modern and powerful Brazil or Mexico?

• Brazil is the 8th largest economy and Mexico is the 11th, I noticed that Mexico has more U.S. commodities like IHOP Dennys outback steak house etc. Also The mexican military uses a lot of American weapons like black hawks, Mexico is the largest produces of American cars. I have been to both but so far i see Mexico as more modern and more of a middle income country as said by the CIA world factbook than Brazil which suffers extreme gaps on wealth. a lot of people cross into mexico illegaly to work also. so why is Brazil considered the crown of Latin America. despite the narco wars.

One thing I will give as far as Mexico goes, is education. It is doing much better than Brazil. That is defiantly something Brazil needs to improve on if we want to stay where we are economically and to grow in the rate we are now in the future.
