Will the beaches in Cancun be open to the public?

How are the beaches in cancun 2008?

  • im going to cancun in may and have heard that the beaches are still damaged from hurricanes. Is this true? Please anyone who has been there since Nov 2007 should let me know.

  • Answer:

No the beaches are not still damaged. Hurricane Wilma did damage in October 2005. They have done an amazing job in renovating resorts and rebuilding the ones that were destroyed. They spend millions to bring back the beaches. Some of the beaches are bigger, some are smaller. The tropical storms of 2007 did not hurt Cancun. Go and enjoy)

I LOVE cancun. It totally depends which part you are going in.We went in hurricane season and a hurricane had just happened but the beach was fine.

Havnt been to Cancun since the huricane but wouldnt go back there because the beaches are too wavey and I like to snorkel which requires calm water. If your into wavy water and dont care to snorkel its ok i guess. I prefer calm water. Going to Cozumel next week.
