I would recommend you Playa Tortugas (Turtle Beach) you can walk a little to the right and you will find the best beaches to swim. Cancun the city has no beaches but the Isla de Cancun where the hotels are have beautiful beaches. Every hotel along the Isla all have beaches where the sand never gets hot. There are several public accesses to the beaches. All beaches in Mexico are public. Several swim areas are roped off and have life guards.
