Which resort is better Secrets Maroma or Secrets Silversands?

Secrets Maroma or Excellence Riviera Cancun?

  • I'm planning a honeymoon and have narrowed the destination down to Secrets @ Maroma Beach (near Cancun) or the Excellence @ Riviera Cancun. Have any of you been to one or the other? Both? Comments? Anything would be helpful! Thanks!!

    My wife and I stayed at Excellence Riviera for two weeks on our 20th anniversary a year , and a half ago. I booked the club section, a swim up suite. We had a great time, and the staff spoilt us rotten. The food at all the many restaurants was fabulous. The rooms, very clean, with a well stocked bar. The entertainment is good, and the many bars can make any drink you can think of, and more. There is one other resort that I feel can top the Excellence, which we have now made our home away from home, is El Dorado Casitas Royale. The Infinity, swim up casita is the best. You get butler service, priority reservations at the many restaurants. In room meal service anytime. Great evening entertainment, Tequila, and wine tasting, and you can book your tours with the butler service. http://www.karismahotels.com/resort/el-dorado-casitas-royale-karisma What ever you pick, your going to have a fantastic time.

You might look at the El Dorado. They don't get a lot of press, but, they are GREAT. A friend just got back. Loved it. Never Stated at the Maroma Beach, but I like the Capri. Excellence has a great rep. as well. Here's the "anything" - Book a "package" (air/transfer/resort/excursions/etc.) before you go. You get more bang for the buck, you know what your total costs are going to be before you leave (yeah... right! Don't forget shopping while you are there. It WILL happen! lol), If you need help, I have access to some great "all inclusive" packages that can be customized to fit you (honeymoon specials, extra goodies like wine, fruit, etc.), Let me know If I can help, Joe

I would go with Secrets Maroma or El Dorado Maroma (smaller boutique, quiet with 72 suites). Maroma beach is one of the best in Riviera Maya. I've been to the El Dorado Maroma and if you're looking for quiet, stress-free then this is the way to go. We stayed in a honeymoon suite overlooking the ocean. It was beautiful! Secrets Maroma is a little bigger but it's on my list of next stays.
