Answer:
Well I have stayed at the Royal Sunset, we had the best time at that hotel!! It had a gorgeous beach, but it isn't really all that quiet around the pool! We have also stayed at the Club International, it was an older hotel, with mostly older people staying at it, so it was VERY quiet, the beach was on the calm side so it wasn't the most beautiful or anything, but it was quiet!! We have also stayed in the Gran Melia, it was a very large hotel with a very beautiful beach! Good Luck in your search!! Just so you know, the Sunset Lagoon, is not your best option if you want a nice beach, they face the lagoon, although if you want rest and relaxation that is a good place to go.

Quite peaceful beaches are hard to come buy in Cancun. Most of the resorts in Cancun itself are high rise hotels so a lot of people share a relatively small beach area. If you are looking for peaceful I would try a little further south around Playa Del Carmen or Tulum. Again in general terms, the further from Cancun the more quite things become. As for beach chairs, most are going have loungers on the beach, or hammocks or both. This a resort review link, you can read reviews from fellow travelers, it may help: http://www.debbiescaribbeanresortreviews.com/mexico/mexrevind.html My wife and I aren't much for golf so while we've stayed at resorts that meet you're other requirements I can't offer any help with that part. Sorry.

Take a look at the Moon Palace (Palace resorts). It may not seem peaceful but, it is a huge resort. Lots of walking areas. Rooms are in buildings no more than three stories high and buildings are spread out through resort. I think the Sunrise side is newer but the Nijuc side has a better chance of getting an ocean view room.

My favorite website to research hotels is hhtp://www.tripadvisor.com Many informed posters, post trip reports on this site. Mexico is a very popular site. I can recommend all of the Palace resorts as being top notch especially Le Blanc. It's 5 star and peaceful. Good Luck and have fun planning.
