Does anybody know of any spray booth rentals in San Diego, CA?

Does anyone know if it is dangerous to drive from San Diego, Ca. to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico ?

  • I have heard there are bandits or robbers that will kill you and take what ever you have. I have also heard that if you break down between San Diego and Cabo their aren't many places to get help fixing the car not to mention being stranded for a long time. I would think you would have to find out exactly where gas is available and plan your driving around that too. Anyone have any experience with this or know of anyone who has. I did hear it takes about 25 hours to drive due to long windy roads. I'm trying to save money by driving and not flying for a trip for my Mom and I. Thank you very much for the advice.

Hola. I make this trip alot so I can tell you exactly what to expect. I am a young canadian girl and I usually drive alone down here. First off, you will not save money by driving. Most people who decide to drive only do so because they need to bring a vehicle down or stuff that is too much for the plane. It is a long trip, you should never drive at night, and the road is usually a mess in some spots. By the time you pay for gas, accomodations, car insurance at the border, food, etc. You are better off to hop on one of the flights and come down. Yes, its true, if you DO break down, you may have a hard time finding a place to fix your car, or get more gas or that kind of thing. But there is also a government service that is free. This service is called the green angels and they drive up and down their part of the highway in a green tow truck all day long and help stranded motorists free of charge. Never leave your vehicle...stay with it and they will come upon you eventually. If you are driving a really fancy vehicle and you've got lots of luggage and bling and don't speak the language at all, then you are kinda asking for trouble. Yes, there are locals who prey on you. Especially if you are stuck somewhere. Most of these types of incidents are random and spur of the moment....not planned. I've been in a couple situations where if I didn't understand Spanish and wasn't a Canadian, it probably would have gone worse for me. Like I said, I make this trip alot and its not that bad. I stop half way in the town of Guerro n.e.gro and then drive the rest the second day. It is pretty long and hot. I bring lots of spare stuff and lots of water and food. I usually run into at least 3 road blocks by federalies. Some of the stops I have items lifted while my car is inspected. camera and ipod. I now make sure I've got no visible bling or things that are worth taking.

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that people travel from tip to tip of Mexico everyday. Tijuana is pretty harsh right now. I wouldn't stop there but I do have friends there and they are still ok. Just don't get into their business. Anyone can get hit and killed by stray bullets but...that can happen right here in America just as easy. I sell insurance to go to Mexico and I have elderly couples driving nice motor homess down the Baja without any problems. It is 1000 miles to the tip of the Baja but in hours...that I don't know. You will need your birth certificate or passport to get a Visa. Yes...even if traveling the Baja (If staying more than 72 hrs). If you will be going anytime after June/July 2009 then you will have to have a passport to get back into the country.

It can be very dangerous, but most of the danger is from the poor roads.
