Is it safe to travel to Brazil?

Is it safe for a lady to travel (for a week) alone in Brazil (Sao Paolo or Rio)? Any tips?

  • I like beaches and the yearly Brazilian fiestas so any place to recommend in Brazil?

  • Answer:

Brazil is a very beautiful country......but it can be dangerous for anyone traveling alone..........turn the wrong corner and your prey You may want to consider Cuba which right now is the best kept secret in this hemisphire...... no crime the beaches are pristine and there are 4 star hotels on Veradero Beach........ tourist from all over the world flock there.......every country in the world except USA and Israel trades with Cuba the Island of San Andreas Columbia is very nice also as are many places in the Carribean........... back to Brazil..... if you have to go Rio has the nice beaches.....Sao Paolo has none....... Carnival is the worst time to go..... crowds...... lack of rooms and all the pick pockets and thieves in Latin America will also be in attendance..........Rio actually has schools to teach the art of picking pockets....... look around the Caribbean is a play land of nice beaches and wonderful places

There's no 'fiestas' in Brazil. It's a spanish word used in hispanic culture, but, Brazil is most Portuguese/Italian culture and we speak portuguese. I recommend Rio, because you can choose Between a lot of good option to experience. I've met many tourist from all over the world in Rio, that never had a problem. And like the guy said, we're not hispanic, there's no Fiestas. Brazilians are quite similar in culture with the Portuguese and Italians. Rio de Janeiro is great, there are many things to do. São Paulo is rich in cultural museums, parks, but it isnt a city that will be liked right away. Its one of those cities that grows on you. Vitória - Espirito Santo is also very nice (my hometown). Its a mini Rio de Janeiro, but safer. You should check it out too!
