What are the most important shops in Buenos Aires?

Cost of living in Buenos Aires?

• I'm curious to hear what others would say would be a good amount of money to plan on having to sustain me for a year in Buenos Aires. I don't drink alcohol or go to clubs. I'm more of an art museum & quirky restaurants & coffee shops kind of gal. I'm looking at renting a guest room once in BA. I live a meager life & have no interest in fancy shopping centers, fine dining or anything like that. Mostly interested in moving to BA for it's beauty & for a dramatic change of pace, a much slower pace. With that in mind could anyone give me a range that they might think is reasonable? I plan on traveling by bicycle once I'm there also, so there wont be much of a transportation expense except on the weekends possibly traveling by bus out of town. Basically I don't do a lot of needless spending. Suggestion welcome :) thanx

  Hi, I just readed your questions, I think your child will be really welcome at school (I'm from Ohio and I moved to Argentina 4 years ago), My kids were really happy, kids and teachers were lovely. About the money... with $700 dollars you will have a great life, dollar is way much stronger than argentine peso, with $700 you can rent an apartament, with EVERYTHING on it, absolutly everything, I get even two irons for the hair haha, about the transportation, you can travel hmmm.. from Retiro to Belgrano (a trip of 30 minutes), it will cost 5 dollars, its really really cool, I love life here, my kids are happy, Argentina is lovely
